Michelle Obama shines in style, and apparently confidence as it does not look like the media blowhards have dissuaded her from being herself where ever she goes. She's impressive.

If her other half had half the integrity that Michelle has style the US might be headed in a good direction. However Barack Obama might as well be called lil'Bushie, as he is leading us down the same road economically that BushCo started us down. I sure wish he had more integrity and guts.

It's the 'Democrat' that's at issue ...

The GOP media machine openly questioned whether it was appropriate for President Barack Obama to travel to Los Angeles this week, when his "business" should be on the economy, the implication being that Obama was not capable of multi-tasking.

This is what Democrats get from Republicans. Democrats do this to Republicans also but Democrats don't have the same access or control of the media loudspeaker that the Republicans usually have. This overwhelming Republican access only breaks down on occasion (such as when McCain and his pard' became scarier than even a Democrat to the rich and malign).

The media loudspeaker not only amplifies and shotguns GOP trivia around the country, but it also diffuses, attacks or ignores any Democratic trivia in the same process. So either Democrats are not as skilled in this practice and/or they don't have the same media access (which they don't) and/or they know the media may cause it to blow up in their faces so they hold back. In the end some/most of them start talking like moronic Republicans for a few pats of approval from the infection that is the media in the United States.

With an overwhelming Republican media (which Pelosi and Holder propose to make even more entrenched, if that is possible) we get trivia and tripe shouted at us 24/7. With a death grip on the public megaphone, the Republicans and their servants in the media question whether the President should go to California, whether his wife should have a garden, whether the President should send a New Year message of hope to the Iranians, whether his wife should wear sleeveless dresses and on and on.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Sleeveless dresses and, oh my god, bare arms ...

Elegant Jacqueline Kennedy wore sleeveless dresses frequently. I don't remember all the personal attacks about appropriateness and motivation.

Tall, statuesque and elegant Michelle Obama looks good in her sleeveless outfits.

There is no culture of hiding arms here in the US. To even suggest, as at least one cretin with access to the media loudspeaker has done, that Michelle Obama should not wear sleeveless dresses because someone in the world might be offended is ludicrousness magnified by trillions.

Can't we do anything about the insipid, trivializing, brain-damaging media in this country?

The attacks on Michelle Obama have “only just begun.” On FOX News Watch last week, James Pinkerton was his usual smarmy self, but Cal Thomas engaged in some of the most racist diatribes I’ve seen so far on television.

It's the media that's angry with an anger that is primed and focused by the corporate bosses who insist on the GOP line, whatever that may be at the present time.

This time the corporate/GOP goal is to support McCain and attack Democrats, any and all Democrats except those special few pseudo Democrats who love being humiliated on TV.

With Michelle Obama the media gets a bonanza. She female and black. They can be so creative with their hate against women and blacks. And when it comes to women we already know that the media looks at us as fair game anyway. With blacks they have to be a little bit more subtle, but will that still be the case by the time this campaign is over? Whatever they do they will forgive themselves afterward and then continue business as usual.

As we've already witnessed the media has completely exonerated themselves of all blame in their blatant, overt, crude and disgusting display of sexism in the case of Hillary Clinton. Either the coverage was an accident, or it wasn't really that bad, or it was misunderstood, or they didn't really mean it, or it was just a joke already, or it was her fault anyway as she was too bossy, too weak, too determined, too whiney, not emotional enough, too emotional and on and on and on. The bottom media line is always that their victims deserve what they get.

[I did notice that the Obama campaign didn't seem to care in the case of Hillary, though. Democrats just don't come to the defense of principles if it might help their opponent, it seems. Now we know that Obama won't defend the Constitution on principle either.]

But I'm not a very good Democrat anyway so I'll state that Michelle Obama should not be subjected to the media torture that's already starting. It's embarrassing for our country that Hillary was treated this way. Michelle is not even running for office and the media are sharpening their knives, doing the GOP/Corporate bidding. They've been well trained or well recruited. They are doing what comes naturally. Point out the target and the hate comes spewing out.

And it's usually going to be a Democrat. Female Democrats are special fun. Of course flood victims, abused children will work in a pinch.

Stop it. Don't you see what you are doing/have done to our country?
